Abigail - 3lbs 3 oz
Olivia - 3lbs 6 oz
I had some issues and called my OB nurse. She told me to come on in. Immediately my heart dropped and tears came to my eyes because as uncomfortable as I am, these babies are not ready to come out!
Everything is fine. It turns out it is severe edema that has spread. He told me to cut down (even more) on my salt intake, put my feet up, and push water to help with the swelling. He spent a lot of time listening to the babies' heart beats. He had me turn this way and that way. I started to get worried, but he said that he just wanted to get right on top of them and not get an echo. He ordered a sonogram, which worried me even more, but he assured me that everything is fine. He just wanted to get a good reading of their heartbeats.
The girl's are fine and the sonogram went well. They have grown like crazy!! In one week Abigail gained 13 oz and Olivia gained 9 oz!! No wonder I am getting uncomfortable.
So all is well...

Twins...no twins...Twins!!
When we had our first sonogram, they saw two sacs
They said they don't call it twins until they see heartbeats, but...to us, it was twins! Then when we went back to see heartbeats a few weeks later, my RE couldn't see a second sac. They said my body just reabsorbed it and we now have 1 perfect heartbeat. Because of IVF, I had an internal sonogram every couple of weeks and at every one they did not see a second sac.In December, at my regular OB appointment, I had my first external sonogram. As soon as they put the wand on my tummy...BAM!! There they were side by side.
My DH was so excited!! I was happy but more nervous because I knew how hard it was to care for 1 infant, not to mention 2. My DS was also super excited about there being 2. He knew all along there would be two because we showed him the embryos picture with 2.

A little history about my son
I have a wonderful son from a previous marriage. He was born by C-section because of failure to dilate after 12 hours of labor with Pitocin.
When he was 9 months old, I became a single mom. Because of this we have an incredible bond with each other.
He is now almost 6 years old and going to Kindergarten!! Aaaa, I can't believe where the time has gone.

He is into Science, Art, Swimming, and is so excited about the girls getting here!
