Tired Day

Olivia decided she wanted to be up until 12:30 last night. Not crying, just awake and ready to talk. Abigail is usually up until 11:00 at night herself, so needless to say we are tired, tired, tired.

The question is:
Cereal or no cereal??

We are thinking of putting a tiny bit of cereal in Abigail's nightime bottle so she will sleep more than 2 hours at night. I know that a lot of people think this is bad, but we think it may get a little more calories into her so she can get a good 3-4 hour stretch of sleep. We are not trying for sleeping through the night or anything crazy like that :-)

I am feeling a little on the desperate side for rest so...

I don't think its bad - I encourage it. I did it and it helped both boys to sleep through the night. Earlier than probably anyone ese would have introduced cereal to them, but they both lived to harass me to this day. SO I say no harm, no foul.

Yes to the cereal!!

hey sara!!! we did the whole cereal in the bottle and saw a difference. when I told my pedi we did this, she was so upset. at the time we were desperate for sleep. it won't hurt them...I say give it a try and see if it helps. sleepless nights are so hard!

Although I am myself not a mom, my own mother told me that she began putting a bit of cereal in my bottle when I was 2 weeks old! (I was 6 weeks early and weighed almost 8 lbs) I did ask her though, and she certainly suggests you starting them on it....and she is a nurse.
*I was born on Sept. 9 and by that very Thanksgiving was eating mashed potatoes & gravy with my Papa*

Hey Sara - Just catching up on some of your latest posts & thought I'd comment. I say hit the cereal girl! I did that with both of our girls & it made a big difference in their ability to sleep for longer periods. The girls sure are getting big!
